| I LOST MY MEMORY AND WAS SHOCKED WHEN I FOUND OUT WHO I AM! | Hi there! I'm Evelyn and I'm about to tell you the most tragic accident that ever happened to me. I lost my memory! Shocking, right? Well, I'm glad it happened, because I learnt some important lessons from it. It all started when I woke up in a hospital bed. I looked around and I was so confused! Tubes were attached to my arms, nose and mouth and I couldn't move. My heart started racing. A machine standing at the end of the room started beeping. I realized it was a heart monitor. Just then, the door flung open. A female doctor rushed in, carrying a clipboard. She then proceeded to remove the numerous tubes attached to my body and told me I had been in a car accident and I was comatose for over a month. I was shocked! What was even more was when she asked me my name and I couldn't remember! She then told me that I suffered severe trauma to my head and suffered amnesia as a result. She said she didn't know if it would be short or long term memory loss. Few minutes after the doctor came, an elderly couple came in. They were the ones who found me unconscious and brought me to the hospital. They also offered to let me stay in their house since I couldn't remember anything and there was no way to contact my parents. They were very kind and with time, I adjusted perfectly to my new life. I often wondered who I was before the accident but I couldn't remember anything. I worked as a waitress at a local diner to help support the couple financially. It was the least I could do to repay their kindness for saving my life and accommodating me. One day, something happened! Something that set my life back on track. I started getting flashes of old memories! I couldn't see faces clearly and I woke up with a headache each time. The doctor said it was normal and with time I would regain my memories. Then, one day, I tripped while climbing the stairs and tumbled all the way down. I hit my head, hard. And that was when the memories flooded back. I realized the cause of the accident! I was coming back from a party with my friends and I was driving. I had just dropped off the last person and was on my way back when I ran into a stationary truck. Did I say I was drunk too? Well, I was. I gasped! I felt so bad that I used to be that wayward. I used to party every Friday night, drink lots of alcohol and I was only seventeen! I was also very lazy because we had lots of maids and my parents were wealthy. I used to be a spoiled brat! It was because I had changed tremendously these past few months. I got up and went to tell my new parents what happened. I told them I was the daughter of one of the richest men in the country but they didn't believe me until I told them about the accident. They agreed to take me home. On getting into town, we saw missing person posters with my pictures. I then realized that my parents had been searching for me. I later reunited with my former family and I told them how the kind, elderly couple helped me and took me in. Dad tried to compensate them with some money but they refused. We all became family friends anyway. In a way, I'm glad I lost my memory. If I didn't have that accident, I would have still been wayward and I wouldn't have known how to manage finances and do things on my own. | |
